Plant lady is the new crazy lady

I started doing landscaping, planting herbs when I moved here. Plants can do so much more from bringing you joy and uplifting your senses. Every morning, I open the lanai door and smell the aroma of basil and lavender.  It does require hard work to cultivate the soil, crossing fingers that they will live. I have a long history of buying a hundred plants and killing them. Let's see if country living make it work for me!

When I lived in the city for 8 years, I accumulated more than a hundred pots - flowers, herbs, orchids and they never survived in my hands. https://makatilife.weebly.com/city-living/creating-a-garden-in-my-apartment

Now, there's an abundance of soil, not only in my backyard!

I started planting herbs on the lanai. I planted them first on pots before transferring to the ground.

BEFORE: Here's what it looks like, bare soil.

I even created a plant diary, hoping they will survive.

AFTER: 3 months passed..I accumulated not only herbs, added roses and hydrangea to my collection.

and flowers bloom 😍

Basil and mint are now the essentials in my kitchen.

I went extreme and installed frog grass at the back too.

Here they are now, I have tomatoes growing, basil, eggplants and bok choy.

My addiction doesn't stop there. I planted some cactus but I have yellow watermelons instead growing on the front yard. The seeds must have fallen and look how they've grown.

AFTER:

I have bitter melon growing on the fences too.

There's definitely something magical with the soil outside the city. I'm no longer lady plant killer.

My next project is the garden tool shed at the back.
